NEET SS 2025 Cut Off: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced a major update for candidates who appeared in NEET-SS 2025. According to the notice dated September 22, 2026, the qualifying percentile for NEET-SS 2025 has been reduced from the 50th percentile to the 30th percentile.
NEET SS 2025 Cut Off: Qualifying Percentile Reduced
Under the revised criteria, candidates who secured 30th percentile or above in their respective NEET-SS 2025 Question Paper Groups have been declared qualified. The revised qualifying cut-off scores are based on a maximum of 600 marks.
The revised cut-off applies to the respective Question Paper Groups, and candidates meeting or exceeding the specified score have been declared qualified.

NEET SS 2025 Cut Off Notification:
No Change in NEET-SS 2025 Rank
NBEMS has clarified that the reduction in the qualifying percentile will not change the group-specific rank declared earlier. The original NEET-SS 2025 result was declared on January 23, 2026, and the rank issued at that time will remain unchanged. The board has also stated that no fresh scorecards will be issued as a result of the reduction in the qualifying percentile.
NEET SS 2025 Cut Off: MBBS Marks Will Be Verified During Admission
The NBEMS notice also contains an important instruction concerning the aggregate marks obtained in all MBBS Professional Examinations. The MBBS aggregate percentage provided by candidates in their NEET-SS 2025 application forms will be verified against their original credentials by the counselling or admitting authority at the time of admission.
Where MBBS aggregate marks were used for resolving a tie in the NEET-SS 2025 rank, the scorecard contains a reference to the aggregate marks provided by the candidate in the application form. If the information provided by a candidate is found to be incorrect and that information was used to resolve the candidate’s rank tie, the candidate’s NEET-SS 2025 candidature may be cancelled.
Unfair Means Can Lead to Cancellation
NBEMS has also reiterated its instructions regarding the use of unfair means in the examination. If a candidate is found at any stage to have used unfair means, appropriate penal action may be taken by NBEMS, MCC or the concerned counselling authority. If such a candidate has been declared successful, the result or candidature may be cancelled.
What NEET-SS Candidates Should Do Now
Candidates who appeared for NEET-SS 2025 and were previously below the 50th percentile should check the revised qualifying criteria for their respective Question Paper Group. The reduction to the 30th percentile means that candidates meeting the revised group-specific cut-off scores have now been declared qualified.
However, qualification through the revised percentile does not by itself change the candidate’s previously declared rank. Candidates should follow further counselling and admission-related instructions issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the concerned authorities.
